ABOUT US

LOFA COUNTY DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION

The Lofa County Development Foundation (LOCDFO) is a nimble, results-oriented grantmaker dedicated to opening the windows of opportunity in some of Liberia's most hard-to-reach places. Founded by Senator Cllr. Joseph Jallah, the Foundation's vision is to make Lofa County a shining star among Liberia’s 15 counties.

OUR STORY

The foundation's voyage took off in 2010 at Kolba City, Kolahun District, when 50 Patriots signed a resolution to find the way forward for our great people, laying the groundwork for our mission. Inspired by the determination of Cllr. Sen. Joseph Jallah, especially after his Senate victory following three prior attempts, LOCDFO has been at the forefront of initiatives targeting change in Lofa’s communities.

Primary Missions

Education

Education is central to our mission. LOCDFO is committed to supporting programs that increase access to high-quality educational and vocational training opportunities for children and adults. We believe that education is key to sustainable change.

Healthcare

We are dedicated to improving healthcare services in Lofa County. Our work includes enhancing local healthcare provision and supporting disease prevention initiatives. Our partnerships with local health organizations ensure that essential services reach the most vulnerable populations.

Infrastructure Development

Infrastructure is crucial for economic and social development. LOCDFO leads projects that improve roads, build clean water systems, and extend electricity access. These projects are designed to nurture thriving communities.

Business Development

At the core of LOCDFO's mission is economic empowerment. We support initiatives that promote entrepreneurship, job creation, and training in sustainable agriculture and business practices. We aim to uplift communities and foster economic growth.

Our Impact Over 13 Years

Since its inception, LOCDFO has achieved success in several areas. From the rehabilitation of faith-based educational facilities to the construction of roads and bridges, and the provision of scholarships to students in Monrovia and Lofa Community College, we remain committed to improving lives across Lofa County.

Legacy and Inspiration

We honor the legacy of our visionary predecessors whose work enabled this, including Paramount Chief Sekou Dudu, Opinion Leader Blama Kamara, Tete-jai Sesay, and Nbomoweh Manjoe. Their dedication continues to inspire us as we strive for excellence in our mission.
